Eliberty & Juan | NY Botanical Garden Wedding

Eliberty and Juan were married at the The Church of the Incarnation with a reception at the NY Botanical Garden.
I really adore shooting in grand churches. The monumental architecture focuses everyone’s attention on the significance of the moment.

The Church of the Incarnation is a particularly beautiful one and has in fact been called “the St. Patrick’s Cathedral of Washington Heights”.

Eliberty looked resplendent in her gown, by Israeli designer Pnina Tornai, and Juan was her perfect and handsome complement. The camera naturally gravitates to the eyes and Eliberty is especially blessed with powerful warmth that emanates from hers. This made her especially photogenic and gave a number of photos that ethereal dreamlike quality.

Eliberty & Juan’s story began eight years ago at their alma mater, Carnegie Mellon University. For two years, they had seen each other in passing, equally intrigued and too bashful to say hello. After many months of eager observation, the perfect chance finally arose for both of them. Juan found her selling tickets for a party at everyone’s favorite lounge, Cozumel. When he inquired about the tickets, Eliberty excitedly told him that she hoped to see him there. He showed up, and the rest is history. They got together, and almost instantly became best friends.

Then once on a rainy day Juan told Eliberty he had to go away to an event for work. Instead, Eli arrived home to a surprise. When she got home, there was a handwritten love note on the front door. Then, as she stepped inside, there was Juan bent on one knee with candles lit.
