I am always thrilled to photograph a wedding at the Metropolitan Club. One of the privileges of being a wedding photographer is actually the chance to shoot in some of New York’s magnificent buildings, and the Met Club, as Stanford White’s most sumptuous and lavish work, ranks high on my list of architectural favorites. Another great love of mine are Indian weddings with their sumptuous colors and traditional clothing, so you can imagine I was especially excited at the prospect of their combination.
Of course, grand settings and gorgeous outfits alone do not make the elements of a beautiful wedding. Fundamentally, I am drawn to capture people in love and Katie and Sunil were truly delightful and their family and friends overflowing with joy and emotion. There was just some ineffable delight in the air that made this wedding particularly inspirational and memorable and that I am sure will sustain a very happy marriage long into the future.
