Through my photojournalistic style, I aim to capture the spontaneity, joy, emotion and ambiance of the important day with photos that present an unfolding story. My incredible clients have taken me all over the world to photography their weddings; including India, Canada, the Caribbean, etc. I am free to travel throughout the US and internationally, and am available for a wide variety of events. Also, here are a few testimonials from some of my wonderful clients.

  • My Blog

Welcome to my blog!   This blog showcases not only my work from many of the beautiful weddings I am privileged to photograph, but also reveals glimpses of my personality.    Here is an opportunity to share some great moments  as well as give clients,  guests and friends the chance to comment. I also hope prospective clients will be able to not only explore my photography and style, but will also find inspiring ideas, recommendations , and tips for their own wedding planning.   I myself got married five years ago and I remember how overwhelming it all was- especially picking the right photographer!  :-)

I am super excited that Modern Luxury Brides California published a full spread of my work in their fall/winter 2013 issue. They showcased Suzanne & James’ amazing Calistoga, Napa Valley, California outdoor wedding. :)

Bouquet

A few tips:

  • Your wedding gown provides the background color for your bridal bouquet. Whatever color you choose, however, the color of your flowers must complement the color of the gown you’re wearing.

  • A bridal bouquet should be part of the total picture and shouldn’t stand-alone. It should tie in with the color scheme of your bridesmaids dresses.

Photo: Samm Blake, via Style Me Pretty

  • Before meeting with potential florists, gather as much inspiration as possible – including styles you like as well as those you dislike. If possible, collect photos, color swatches of linens and bridesmaid dresses, invitations, etc. to bring to the meeting. This information will be a great starting point and will, hopefully, convey the theme and vision you have for the wedding day.
  • Get familiar with the different types of flowers — especially your favorites — and the colors they come in.
  • When you are choosing a bouquet, take into consideration the time of the year and the seasons. Different types of flowers match better for each season and also certain flowers only grow during specific times of the year.  Roses and orchids are available year-round. Calla lilies and tulips bloom during the winter and spring. Hydrangea are in season during the summer and fall. And the ever popular peonies only bless us with their beauty during the spring. If there is a must have flower on your list, make sure to get married when that flower is in full bloom. (via http://www.celebritybrideguide.com/brian-worley-blog-flowers/ )
  • Another factor in choosing the bouquet is thinking about the theme of the wedding and the other elements in the wedding. That means the flowers you choose should compliment the look of the bride’s dress, the bridal party dresses, fabrics and colors, and their flowers.

I personally love the idea of having a vintage wedding theme. I find it different and unique- and very inspiring to photograph, as a wedding photographer. Vintage dresses are usually made from exquisite fabrics and beautifully crafted. They allow brides to wear something that is totally unique and which can be worn from the day of purchase. Of course, a vintage wedding dress that is in good condition and which fits properly is not always easy to come by.

“The Great Gatsby” Movie Inspiration

With the release of The Great Gatsby, I had to post about it on my blog. I went to see the movie and I found the setting amazing, and I loved the intricately gorgeous costumes used through out this movie. From the beaded flapper dresses to the crystal head pieces, I can’t help but think that this will definitely be the most glamorous and elegant renditions of all.

With designers including Miuccia Prada and Oscar-winner Catherine Martin responsible for dressing the stars, we are set to see outfits inspired by the archives of Prada, Miu Miu, Tiffany & Co and Brooks Brothers.

Here are a few more dresses that can be applicable as wedding dresses inspired by The Great Gatsby:

Great Gatsby Inspiration for the Groom

Brooks Brothers

International retailer Brooks Brothers has released a limited-edition menswear collection inspired by the costumes in Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of The Great Gatsby. The line, produced in collaboration with the film’s costume designer Catherine Martin, is comprised of Art Deco-inspired formalwear and daywear, including tuxedos, tailored suits, suiting separates, shirts, ties, shoes and accessories. Most pieces are inspired directly by looks worn by Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire). The characters’ costumes have been “modified for the collection so they are at once clearly inspired by the era but entirely wearable today,” the company said. A few significant pieces include a pinstriped pink suit made from 100 percent linen-the same fabric used for the film-and a bowtie worn by Gatsby during the film.
