Carol & Michael

Carol and Michael’s wedding is fast approaching on July 17. With the date so close, I think there was in the air an extra bit of the sweet tenderness of a couple only weeks before they are forever wed.

We shot the the first part of their session in Grand Central Station, amidst the grandeur of old NY and the hustle and bustle of the crowds. I really like the first picture of Carol and Michael- with an almost ethereal quality to the light, they seemed to be embraced, ambivalent to the passage of time.

Afterwards, we went off to the Central Park Reservoir, near where Michael originally proposed.
The weather was not particularly cooperative that day, continuing the trend of an unpredictable and rather wet NY June. It started to rain, but that did not prevent us from getting some great images. I actually like shooting in the rain (at least not the heavy rain :)- it adds to the romantic atmosphere. I have some advanced and well rehearsed techniques to avoid the rain and protect my expensive gear- quickly hiding myself under a garbage bag as Carol and Michael watched with amusement from a bridge above. Michael took a picture of this with his iPhone, which I may post after I receive it if I do not look too ridiculous. :)

I am awaiting Carol and Michael’s story of how they met, which I will post soon. In the meantime, below is Carol’s appreciative email
after I sent her the slideshow:

“WOW! We are blown away. The pictures are gorgeous; better than we could have imagined. I’m so happy we did this and even more excited for you to share our wedding day with us. You’re an amazing artist and it shows in these fabulous photos. Michael and I are both very picky, as we both work with visual images. You’ve by far exceeded our expectations and we are anxious to see the rest of the photos when they are ready.”
Thank you again!!!
Best,
Carol & Michael
