  • My Blog

Welcome to my blog!   This blog showcases not only my work from many of the beautiful weddings I am privileged to photograph, but also reveals glimpses of my personality.    Here is an opportunity to share some great moments  as well as give clients,  guests and friends the chance to comment. I also hope prospective clients will be able to not only explore my photography and style, but will also find inspiring ideas, recommendations , and tips for their own wedding planning.   I myself got married five years ago and I remember how overwhelming it all was- especially picking the right photographer!  :-)

Edera

Edera Website – Edera Jewelry BlogFacebookTwitterPinterestEtsy – Edera Shop

Edera Jewelry is a luxurious collection of one-of-a-kind and limited edition handmade lace and textile jewelry. Specializing in wedding jewelry, artist Ivy Long crafts each piece by hand in her Vermont studio using old world lacemaking techniques. The designs blend rich silk and real metal threads with luscious gemstones, pearls and vintage crystals for a romantic and opulent effect

Every Edera Jewelry design starts with the tiniest of crochet hooks and spools of the finest silk or real metal threads–like those used in the rich embroidery and laces of the Renaissance and Rococo eras. These hard-to-find threads, which contain real 24k gold and silver, are imported from Europe and Japan. Ivy weaves them into intricate, often three-dimensional, lace motifs which she then embroiders with high quality gemstones, vintage crystals and beads, freshwater pearls, and real gold spangles. Everything is stitched, woven, and embroidered by hand and finished off with silver, vermeil, or 14k gold-filled findings.

Elie Saab

Lebanese designer Elie Saab has long been a leading name in haute couture in the Middle East, where his romantic, crystal-encrusted gowns attracted princesses to his Beirut atelier, opened in 1982 when he was just 18 years old. His ready-to-wear line, which launched in 1998 in Milan, heralds the same feminine aesthetic as his couture dresses, with brightly colored silks, chiffons, pearl beading, and embroidered lace. With their Middle Eastern detailing and European sensibility, Saab gowns are also at home on the Hollywood red carpet; Halle Berry famously wore one to pick up her Academy Award in 2002.

1920s Style Short Wedding Dresses

The 1920′s saw Prohibition and the rise of the “roaring 20′s ” ladies of fashion went from the high button tight collared show no leg fashions to daring scandalous women in short fringed and beaded “Flapper: dresses and “Bobbed ” hair dos. (via A Reflection on Brides of Fashion and their Bouquets… from Victorian to Today)

I hope you enjoy this video of vintage 1920s wedding photos:

Leluxe

LeLuxe began out of a need to preserve the style of the 1920s Flapper era. Throughout the years they have revived and reinvented gowns in a modern style, and worked on perfecting fabulous beaded gowns, cotton embroidered dresses, and vintage inspired accessories.

If you like the 1920s style, I recommend you have a look at another post, 1920s Style Wedding Dress Inspiration

If you really liked the vintage style, I recommend you have a look at these blogs. They are fantastic resources for brides looking for vintage wedding inspiration, and ideas for weddings with a vintage feel.

Fabienne Alagama

“The trend is only a thread … My  main inspiration comes brides themselves. I strive to create their dress that really suits them. ”

Fabienne Alagama created her wedding dress brand nearly 10 years ago. Her ultra-feminine sensual style allows her to draw dresses  for chic glamor brides in a timeless style. Her work on the bare back is incomparable and helped to make it known to the public. Even today, the back of Fabienne Alagama wedding dresses are an important point of her artistic imprint. Another very important element for the creative is the choice of materials for the best quality.

Limor Rosen

Coming from a heritage of fashion designers who were among the first to establish themselves sixty years ago in Israel, fashion design was a natural choice for Limor Rosen.

She started at Bezalel art academy, where she was given the freedom to relate to garments as works of art and not only as items of clothing.  Studying fashion at the Instituto Europeo di Design in Madrid, Limor came in contact with the highest standards of the European fashion industry. After training later on as part of the design team of the Diane von Furstenberg fashion house in New York, she set up her own studio, Limor Rosen Bridal Couture, in the heart of the Tel Aviv gallery district.

I just got back from the Mystic 2012 Photography Seminar. First, a big thanks to Walter van Dusen for founding and organizing such a wonderful and interesting conference.

I love attending Mystic. Besides connecting with friends and having fun, it serves an important purpose to stoke the passion for what I do in wedding photography. It is easy to develop ingrained habits which can limit artistic growth or sap creativity. So, Mystic helps me to break with the old conventions and open my mind to explore new ideas and concepts. There were important lessons to be learned about photography and business and how to challenge myself to continually take my work to the next level artistically and professionally.

I was inspired and educated by amazing speakers and really enjoyed listening to great photographers including Ben & Erin Chrisman, Joe Buissink, Michael Greenberg, Tony Corbell, Dave & Quin Cheung, Fer Juaristi, David Josue, Daniel Aguilar, and Rafa Ibanez. I’m looking forward to next year!
