  • My Blog

Welcome to my blog!   This blog showcases not only my work from many of the beautiful weddings I am privileged to photograph, but also reveals glimpses of my personality.    Here is an opportunity to share some great moments  as well as give clients,  guests and friends the chance to comment. I also hope prospective clients will be able to not only explore my photography and style, but will also find inspiring ideas, recommendations , and tips for their own wedding planning.   I myself got married five years ago and I remember how overwhelming it all was- especially picking the right photographer!  :-)

I’m so happy that Style Me Pretty featured Abbie and Ben’s Tarrytown Estate wedding on their Little Black Book blog.

Style Me Pretty Black Book described it as “the ‘Best Wedding Inspiration’ award this year.”

Their wedding was in the beginning of the autumn, so they took inspiration from the idea of an Indian Summer. Their wedding was filled with color, featuring lots of flower arrangements, some of the couples’ favorite colors – teal, orange, pink, gold, and some beautiful Moroccan lanterns.

Abbie and Ben’s wedding day was very important to them, and they planned out every last detail with the incredible work of the amazing wedding planner Amy Shey Jacobs of Chandelier Events. She did an amazing job – everything was so professional and efficient, as well as organized and stress free. I recommend Amy to all the brides out there.

For more from Abbie and Ben’s wedding, check out their blog post.

Katie and Dan were married at the stunning venue, Capitale. I was really excited to shoot at such a stunning event space. The building was designed in 1893 during the City Beautiful movement, and shares the Beaux-Arts tradition with other architectural gems such as the Grand Central and the New York Public Library. Such grandeur is undeniably inspiring.

The interior features tall Corinthian columns, and beautiful ceiling, and a beautiful glass skylight. Combined with its limestone exterior, featured beautiful pilasters, columns and pediment with sculptures by Frederick Macmonnles, Capitale is easily one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. All those beautiful elements combined with the beautiful emotion throughout the day made Katie and Dan’s wedding perfectly beautiful. I had the opportunity to get to know them through the engagement shoot I did with them in the spring.

We drove out of the city together and it was great spending time with them and getting to know each other. Dan told me that his father is an Israeli and his mom lived in Israel for awhile as well. His father’s friends, by coincidence, are a family in Israel who I know. It was so nice to see all of them on the wedding day, they had so many family members and guests from Israel that I felt right at home. :)

Kate and Dan have known each other since they were eight years old, and it continued into friendship and then a relationship in high school. There is such a beautiful naivety, pureness, and special romance about high school sweethearts. As Katie relates about how they met: “Dan and I met when we were eight years old taking tennis lessons together, but Dan was more focused on winning matches than on me back then. In high school we became close friends and in our junior year, while both on vacation with our families at the same hotel in Puerto Rico, he kissed me on the golf course overlooking the ocean. Two proms and three and a half years later, Dan graduated early from University of Michigan, moved into my studio dorm room at Barnard, and we’ve been inseparable since. This past November he proposed at the top of the Empire State building with the lights of the whole city surrounding us, and it was absolutely perfect.”

Lovely Bride

Lovely Bride WebsiteBlogFacebookTwitter
A chic NYC bridal shop that carries romantic dresses, by stylish designers. Owner Lanie List showcases her ruffle-free, indie approach to bridal wear in this two-story boutique, opened in April 2010. The former gallery space’s soft lighting provides an artful setting for rows of white gowns. High-end dresses from Badgley Mischka, Delphine Manivet, and Watters hang along cool blue walls, while whimsical hairpieces by ban.do, Lo Boheme, and Twigs & Honey are strewn across displays of floating branches. Upstairs, three generously sized fitting rooms are outfitted with vintage chairs and velvet curtains, while the and the lounge-like salon and courtyard garden are large enough to accommodate friends and bridesmaids. The shop also carries a variety of bridesmaid dresses, including options from Cynthia Rowley. By appointment only. [via nymag]
