  • My Blog

Welcome to my blog!   This blog showcases not only my work from many of the beautiful weddings I am privileged to photograph, but also reveals glimpses of my personality.    Here is an opportunity to share some great moments  as well as give clients,  guests and friends the chance to comment. I also hope prospective clients will be able to not only explore my photography and style, but will also find inspiring ideas, recommendations , and tips for their own wedding planning.   I myself got married five years ago and I remember how overwhelming it all was- especially picking the right photographer!  :-)

Jenn & Jim met 10 years ago in College, when Jenn was only 18 years old- a small step away from being high school sweethearts. I adore the deep meaning and symbolism of family heirlooms and was delighted to hear that Jim proposed with his Grandmother’s engagement ring. Their long relationship will receive that blessing of permanent committment when they marry in mid-May at Fordam Univeristy Church. Their reception will be held at Marros in Rye, which is a beautiful 19th century stone mansion.

We shot the engagement session in the Fort Tryon Park vicinity and in the Cloisters gardens. We got as close to the Cloisters themselves as possible before being sternly warned that photography permits are required. So, we then quickly fled to the West Village for some urban contrast. I had passed by the Caliente Cab Mexican Restaurant there just the other day with my husband (that is the best way to scout romantic locations) and thought it would look amazing as a backdrop with a lot of vibrant colorful flair and the vintage taxi. I especially love the shot amidst the road construction which has such a cool fresh dynamic to it.

I told Jenn that she looks just like Katie Holmes :) (something she said some other people also mentioned). I can’t wait to see what a stunning bride she is going to be.

I feel like I just finished shooting Pamela and Paul’s engagement session, when suddenly their wedding snuck up on me. Needless to say, it was a fun and seamless continuation to witness them now get married at Fiddler’s Elbow.

Here is a sneak peak of some of their photos, though I have only started the long editing process. I especially love the naturalistic feel of the shot of them beneath the birdhouse- what better place could there be for two new love birds :) I also like how that is juxtaposed next to a series of more photojournalistic shots of Pam and her Father. Those three shots of their special dance capture the full panorama of overwhelming emotion, a cycle from tears of joy to exuberant happiness. And of course hats of to the hats!, which I understand, is the English and Welsh fashion, now successfully transplanted by Paul’s sister and friend to New Jersey! It was a terrific touch of lighthearted whimsy and daring to alleviate the intensity of a wedding.

I was especially delighted to learn that Julie Laudicina was the officiant. I last saw her at Colleen & Zach’s wedding and she truly added a wonderful spirit and energy to the ceremony. And of course, the very talented harpist Violetta Norrie, contributed greatly to the angelic atmosphere as well.

Fresh off their engagement shoot, Adam and Dale celebrated their wedding at the absolutely gorgeous Blue Hill Farm at Stone Barns.
It feels like heaven to take a break from the City and drive around the Hudson Valley. Blue Hill Farm, only 45 minutes outside NYC, has a renowned restaurant that relies on a philosophy of farm grown crops and local livestock. I am not surprised they picked this venue as Dale, from listening to the toasts, has a great appreciation of food. The unforgettable culinary experience and farm create an ambiance of rustic elegance- all of which serves to remind us of the refinement of life’s simple pleasures, of which love is no doubt one of the greatest.

Adam and Dale met at a brunch with friends at Time Cafe sometime around 1999, but didn’t start dating until July of 2002, shortly after Adam finished up a two year stint in his firm’s London office. They have, of course, been inseparable from that point on. One of the highlights of the wedding was that after getting ready, Dale and Adam confided in me that there was going to be a very special surprise announcement and I should prepare myself to capture the faces of their families when they heard it. (Blog drumroll please…) Yes, Dale and Adam are going to the very proud parents of twins!

Here is a sneak peak of some of their photos. I will be adding some additional details (maybe even the photo of Cynthia Nixon (aka Miranda) who was just happened to be there and kindly took a photo with Adam and Dale.

Tammy Golson - Stunning wedding and photography, congratulations. I so look forward to planning an event at Blue Hill next year, infact just blogged about it. Hope you’re well! Thanks for sharing.

Darcy and Jerry were married at the Hamilton Farm Golf Club on a historic country estate in Somerset County, New Jersey. Below is a sneak peak of some of their images.

I loved the carefully coordinated color schemes that seemed to flow at different points throughout the day; soft auburn, cream and pearl, transitioning to the beautiful satin blue of the invitation, bridesmaid dresses and a perfectly matched ribbon thoughtfully tied to accent the hanging candle. Those ethereal blues, which hint at the poetic and heavenly side of love, fit very well with the brick and lush greens of the grounds, that speak more to the solid foundation of a marriage. And I loved the guest seating cards pinned to some sod with appropriate golf tees.

Darcy and Jerry both work for Nemco Brokerage. Darcy had already been working for three years when Jerry joined. She must have been happy with the new recruit :) It took a few months before they started dating, and it must be fun for them to relive those early subtle glances and flirts, that no doubt had to be rather subtle and not too flirty, as they did not want to send the rumor mill at work into full swing. A nice advantage, I suppose, of dating someone from work is that you have already spent a good deal of time with eachother and can sense compatibility. Darcy told me that they had a number of fun dates at little NYC restaurants as well as a fair share of Central Park picnics, but there real first “date” was not until a Red Sox-Yankees game. Darcy confessed that they were both a bit nervous how their fast developing “office romance” would be perceived by their bosses, but to their relief, their firm is filled with wonderful people that gave them the understanding, and no doubt happy, go-ahead.
