Julie and Zack were married at Tribeca Rooftop, a really gorgeous modern space, right in the middle of some of my favorite NYC streets for urban portraits.
Julie came to me through Dana Siegel. I was so happy when Julie wrote me: “I just saw some of Dana‘s pictures on your blog and I am blown away! I havent really been too excited (all the planning is a nightmare)-but your pictures gave me chills and i am SO EXCITED!!!! Zack was so impressed as well and loved the photos. You are so talented.” Nothing pushes me harder than a heartfelt compliment :)
Preparations started at the Ritz in Battery Park. Karmela Lozina of Sahag, who Julie met through her magazine work, was her hairstylist and was full of fascinating and incredibly entertaining stories of all of the celebrities she styled over the years. She was a delight to work with. Janis, whose arms were adorned with fabulous tattoos (which provided added inspiration) was Julie’s make-up artist and did fabulous work. Judi Wishnick, who designed the flowers and coordinated the day was also incredible and I would highly recommend her services.
Julie and Zack are full of fresh love and it shows in every glance and embrace. They have known each other for just over a year and met (from what I remember) when Julie went to a bar just for a drink after a very hard day’s work. I am sure it was not on Julie’s mind to meet someone that evening, but Zach, who was living in Dallas, happened to be there and they ended up talking for hours. It is a perfect example of the chance encounter when you least expect it that ends up shaping one’s destiny. I will get Julie to send me in her own word’s how they met and post that soon.
